The Work of Love People in Moldova

The feeling of love was the driving force behind the beginning of our international journey. Our first step beyond Greece took place in Moldova in the year 2000, during a time when thousands of people were living below the poverty line. The need was urgent—but our desire to offer support was even stronger. With acts of solidarity and compassion, we began a journey of relief, empowerment, and hope.
In the city of Bălți, we stood alongside a school for 150 children with visual impairments. For these children, access to education—a fundamental human right—was filled with barriers. Love People stepped in to help meet their everyday needs, support their teachers, and create a safe, encouraging learning environment where they could thrive.
Beyond school support, we also invested in the personal and professional development of young adults. We funded tuition for ten students to study the Greek language, providing them with a passport to new opportunities, cultural connection, and a stronger future. For us, education is always a gateway to growth and possibility.
Through our Bank of Love programme, we offered financial support to small businesses and low-income families struggling to meet their basic needs. The goal was not only to provide short-term relief but to offer a sustainable push toward financial independence, enabling people to regain their footing with dignity and pride.
In the rural town of Pirlița, our gift to the community was a tractor for agricultural use—a gesture both symbolic and practical. By supporting local food production, we strengthened not only the community’s survival but also its self-sufficiency, hope, and faith in the land they call home.
Our work in Moldova is a clear reminder that love knows no borders. Wherever there is need, that is where the heart of Love People beats strongest. We remain committed to transforming lives—with respect, trust, and genuine care—one community at a time.
